First and foremost, we do not support emergency services. This means if you're in a dire emergency and you dial 911 or 999 or 112 or 110 or whatever your regular emergency number is, you will not be connected to people who can help you. You have to agree to this when you sign up for the service, so it shouldn't come as a surprise, but we want to make sure it's abundantly clear. We want our users safe, happy, and using our service to communicate back and forth for as long as possible.
Secondly, IdeaSIP uses an Internet connection. This means that, as a service, we are only as reliable as your connection to the Internet. If your connection goes down, or you have a firewall blocking your connectivity, you can't use IdeaSIP. If your connection is flakey or you're filling up your bandwidth by using P2P applications or online gaming, you can expect IdeaSIP's quality to suffer as a result. That is the nature of communication. It's only as reliable as its medium.
There are, however, plusses to the IdeaSIP service. When you sign up, you get an IdeaSIP number that is yours to keep. You can take it with you anywhere you go: down the street, across the country, or to the other side of the world. As long as you can get a broadband Internet connection, you can use IdeaSIP to dial and receive calls. It's a global service.
IdeaSIP is also more than just voice. We fully support video over the network, IM, as well as other protocols that can use SIP. As time goes on, we'll be doing our best to keep up with the current trends in communication and adding services and features that will help you make the most of your account.
IdeaSIP is an evolutionary, full-featured communications service that's more than just a phone. It's the single best way to stay in touch and keep in touch with anyone and everyone. With dialins, call forwarding, mobile Wi-Fi, softphones, and hardphones, your options for connecting and staying connected are almost limitless.
